Our Focus

We define culture as a system of rules governing thought and behavior that at its core exists the assumptions, beliefs and values (worldview) of a specific people group. It is an intricate and tightly woven fabric that has taken generations to form, yet is still dynamic, fluid, and continually changing. However, within this fabric, there are destructive cultural norms that impede rather than promote the development of a nation and its people.

Though Bangladesh is developing as a nation, it is impeded by corruption and for the last four years it has been rated as the most corrupt country in the world. Child health care, sanitation, gender issues, detrimental customs and poverty are among some of the other existing challenges. BCM believes not only in systematic changes, but behavioral changes as well; it is ultimately poverty of the heart and mind that cause this and other poor conditions that exist throughout the country. Therefore, BCM seeks to replace a worldview rationalizing the above issues with one that promotes transparency, honesty, and a common respect for mankind..
